Burnt Friedman has a new album on his way!

'Musical Traditions in Central Europe (Explorer Series Vol.4)' will be out this Friday via Nonplace.

" 'Musical Traditions In Central Europe: Explorer Series Vol. 4' takes the form of an ethnological compilation, but includes only Friedman's music and fits into an "Explorer Series" that never previously existed. As with much of his body of work, the Berlin-based artist uses the conceptual angle to rail against dominant Western musical traditions.

'The system of scales, and also the fact that the western central Europeans rely on recorded or written script in order to conserve the themes of their music, could lead us to look upon it as a form of art music', reads the press release. 'Remarkably enough, traditional house or techno which existed 30 years ago, still flourishes today. Moreover, all the time new forms and musical styles are being discovered, tried out and eventually overlooked.'

The label describes it as a 'modest sampling of extinct splendors, political or individual sufferings, gloomy sadness, love, resentment, exquisite delicacy, laughter and delectable wisdom of rural and urban central European music.' The forthcoming full-length features the Brazilian artist Lucas Santtana and saxophonist Hayden Chisholm."

Giant Rooks have just released their 2nd EP

'Wild Stare' is out on Irrsinn/ Universal since April 19th!

December last year, the single 'Wild Stare' was the first sign of life by Giant Rooks after their acclaimed EP 'New Estate'. Now, they have just released their second EP, named after the lead single.

And it shows why they are the most promising newcomer in their native country - Germany. With 'Wild Stare' they put their money where their mouths are, showing their musical spectrum, their exuberant talent, and their infectious serenity.

Giant Rooks know exactly what is happening in their generation. Their position is cosmopolitan, just like their sound. They’ve already broken out of Germany and landed an international record deal with Irrsinn/Universal. Furthermore they are as used to playing in Manchester or London as other German indie bands are playing in Berlin or Hamburg. And the venues are getting bigger, tickets are sold faster and big chunks of the tour promoting their EP are sold out already.

Giant Rooks are still only in their early 20s and therefore outrageously young. If they continue to write songs with such incredible intensity, the expectations for their debut album are growing wild.

The band is currently on tour and plays shows all over Europe!

Loyalty Does Not End With Death

Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and Carl Abrahamsson release the 3rd part of their spoken word trilogy through Swedish label iDEAL recordings.

In 1990, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge collaborated with Carl Abrahamsson's project White Stains, which led to the classic ambient/spoken word album 'At Stockholm'. In 2004, P-Orridge and Abrahamsson's following project, Cotton Ferox, made the album 'Wordship'. Yet another fourteen years later, the two long-time friends have made the final (?) part of their spoken word trilogy: 'Loyalty Does Not End With Death'.

The album was recorded in New York (c/o Sean Ragon of Cult Of Youth) and Stockholm 2017-2018. The result is a psychedelic prism of the very finest P-Orridgean poetry and the always playful sounds of Abrahamsson.

This time they have decided to leave all monikers and project names behind (Psychic TV, Thee Majesty, White Stains, Cotton Ferox), to be able to fully focus on the bare essentials: poetry wrapped in a vibrant vehicle of love and magic. It's a powerful stand-alone album with a unique life of its own. It's also a part of a trilogy of works that carries the piercing poetry of Genesis Breyer P-Orridge onwards through time and through the ether, immaculately dressed in warm, electronic scapes and revelatory cut up sound structures. But, perhaps most of all, it's a living, breathing testament of a creative friendship that has also taken the forms of writing, interviews, photographs and films ('Change Itself' 2016) for almost 35 years.

Danielle de Picciotto announces new solo album

'Deliverance' will be out May 15th on UK label Louder Than War

Danielle de Picciotto's new album 'Deliverance' which is being released by the label Louder Than War on May 15, will be obtainable as a hard cover vinyl collector's item featuring 24 pages of the art she has created during her years of traveling including a hand signed screen print.

'Deliverance' speaks of these travels and the state of our world from an eagle's perspective. Despair and hope lie side by side, mirroring the dark shadows and beauty she has experienced on her journey.

Her music is a mixture of spoken word, electronic soundscapes, melancholic violin harmonies, and surreal choirs, moving back and forth from experimental sounds to beautiful melodies managing thus to blend hope and despair into a cosmos of constant flux.

Imagine Laurie Anderson dancing with This Mortal Coil in a strange wasteland of dreams and sounds, that is Danielle's universe. It is one that faces reality and its challenges with mystical, dreamlike wisdom, discovering solutions in unexpected alcoves, offering hope and wonder as an alternative.

New release by Gladkazuka

'The Drop' will be released tomorrow through Música Cómeme

Gregorio Gomez aka Gladkazuka is a mythical figure from Medellín's underground nightlife, contributing since pre-smartphone ages with energetic live sets to the celebration of life in the convulsive surrounding of the Colombian city.

After playing and touring alongside Matias Aguayo with The Desdemonas and contributing with the club smash hits 'Ihr Euer' and 'Futuro Chaos' to the 'Solidarity Forever' series on Música Cómeme - Gladkazuka is back with a full EP in which highly emotive and sensual electro dance fantasies culminate to 'The Drop'.

Gomez' creations are nocturnal and lush, utopian and melancholic - underground dance pop that would be mainstream in a better world.

#dasoforever - 'Every second full of burning passion'

Connaisseur is releasing an album, the producer continued to produce during the months prior to his death.

Daso Franke was born in Poona, India, but made his mark in the electronic music world after relocating to Germany - first in Cologne, then Berlin. His earliest releases came out in the mid-2000s.

On Easter Monday, April the 2nd, 2018 Daso passed away after a long bout with cancer. Connaisseur Recordings lost one of their most important artists and some of his best music was released with them.

Connaisseur head Alex Flitsch was approached by Franke's father at the funeral, asking if Flitsch would release an album Daso finalised in the months before his death. 'We didn't decide on doing so lightly, knowing that the release of a post-mortem album can bring up certain issues', Flitsch says. 'However, in the end, we agreed to do it, as we sincerely strive to create a final memento for Daso's musical legacy.'

The self-titled album 'Daso' will be out April 5th, three days after the first anniversary of Daso's obit.

NEW RELEASE BY THE CINEMATIC ORCHESTRA

It’s been 12 years, since The Cinematic Orchestra released their last studio album 'Ma Fleur' in 2007. The record was mixed by multiple Grammy winner Tom Elmhirst (David Bowie, Frank Ocean, Adele) in Jimi Hendrix’s legendary Electric Lady Studios.

Births, deaths, success, failure. Money, drugs, temptation, rejection. Trump, Brexit, fear, hope. Art, relevance, pressure, belief. It’s this that accounts for the past 12 years for The Cinematic Orchestra, it’s this that characterises the process of recording the new album and it’s this that has been distilled into a work that is not only their best and most definitive to date but by asking these questions it’s also that which best reflects the great beauty in life.

In 2019 it is easy to see the band’s influence, jazz is all around us. 'To Believe' doesn’t shy away from this ethos - its articulation of the band’s unique sonic language, encompassing not only jazz but the sort of transcendental orchestration combined with the elegant electronics of artists like Ólafur Arnalds and Floating Points, artists they have helped forge a path for, has never been more cohesive and compelling. On this album, Swinscoe and Smith continue to make music with an expansive vision, while also scaling up their ambition.

The Cinematic Orchestra are currently on tour with shows in Germany on the following dates:

23.05.2019 Berlin, Astra

24.05.2019 Köln, Music Hall

We are proud to represent such a wonderful band in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for our partner Just Isn’t Music!
