Shiraz Lane online concert on SemiLive April 3rd 2020

The current COVID-19 virus crisis is forcing artists, managements, event and booking agents to cancel or postpone scheduled concerts and festivals to later this year. Meanwhile, artists such as the Finnish rock band Shiraz Lane are coming up with creative ideas how to connect with their fans during these uncertain times.

The guys - still in top form after the tour through Europe - didn't feel like sitting around until summer, and thus the idea for a streamed live show came about! On April 3rd, Shiraz Lane will perform a special full show that will be streamed globally through a new Finnish platform SemiLive. The super affordable (5,49 Dollars /4,99€) tickets are available now on the event page. This unique, interactive show will be available to watch for that same price for the following 72 hours after the broadcast.

This concert gives the fans a special experience enjoying a hard rock show from their home living room, kitchen, balcony, or wherever. On the other side, this is a unique opportunity for fans to support the band and help secure income in order for them to continue making music in the future.

New Puder-Album out soon!

'Tomorrowland with Friends' will release March 27th via Pussy Empire.

Back in 2015, Hamburg-based musician Catharina Boutari a.k.a. Puder found her-self in a dilemma. Her plan was to record a new album. A good idea, on the face of it. Yet it also seemed a terrible prospect. She couldn't face going through the same process, the one she'd gone through so often when creating a new album. After 20 years in bands and as a solo performer, it was time for change. Time to get out of her comfort zone and dive headlong into a new kind of experiment: go into a stu-dio with a musical guest to create an album from scratch in ten days, from the first idea to the final recordings in front of a live studio audience. The name for this high-risk concept: the Puder Session Tapes. No safety net. Celebrating the format’s international debut, the fourth and fifth Session Tapes featured Riad Abdel-Nabi in Amsterdam as well as Ben Schadow, Ulita Knaus and Kathrin Ost in Hamburg. The result is a stunning new work entitled, 'Tomorrowland with Friends'.

We are pleased to having relived our long-term relationship with an old friend of the Freibank family!

Tobias. (Freund) is long established as an influential artist and has - since the early 1990s - been working as a professional producer, sound engineer, label owner and strictly live musician. The Berghain resident constantly keeps exploring the vast synth-driven Techno, Experimental and Ambient territories on journeys in-between genres, both as a live act and on his countless releases.

Besides his early solo projects (such as Pink Elln, Metazone or Phobia) he's also been collaborating with Dandy Jack (as Sieg Über Die Sonne), Ricardo Villalobos (as Odd Machine), Max Loderbauer (as NSI.), Valentina Berthelon (as Recent Arts) and Atom™ to only name a few.

With his vast experience, diverse output and interests, Tobias. doesn’t tire to actively push against existing boundaries and explore new areas of electronic music. By this he stands in a long tradition of electronic music, scrutinizing the self while reaching out towards the unknown, approaching sound with an appetite for the new, in the tradition of true innovators.

'Eurydike' split EP with Friedman & Pais and Friedman & Liebezeit will be out March 27th!

"Marriages are made in heaven - so is thunder and lightening"

João Pais Filipe (drums) and Burnt Friedman (electronics) ultimately hypnotize their audience by activating cosmic mechanics. Both refer to it as "automatic music", yet their focus is on playing and exploring rare rhythmic modes; in Friedman's terms: "We organize pressure mediation according to mother nature." Friedman & Pais left behind the consensus–artificial–paradise of cultural musical idioms, developing an immersive, archaic next level–dance music, deeply rooted in natural laws of motion.


Yet informed by the works of Jaki Liebezeit – one of the most influential drummers of all time – Friedman & Pais pursue a different path. On side B the listener is confronted with 2 more recent, unreleased Secret Rhythms – contributions. The 2 Friedman & Liebezeit studio tracks were recorded in 2016 and were played lived frequently.

Since his passing in early 2017, Liebezeit's drum theory has been carefully retrieved and presented to the public for the first time. The book is now available via Unbound, U.K. and reviewd in FREQ.

OUT: Reece Lemonius releases his first single of 2020 'Body Language'

Boasting gorgeous vocals and versatile soundscapes, 'Body Language' is reminiscent of 2000s feel-good, guilt-free pop/R&B. The synth-tinged track is a new direction for the artist, both sonically and thematically lighter than Reece Lemonius’ previous hits. Fittingly dropped on the day of love —February 14— the track was inspired by a wordless connection between a girl at a party as they danced the night away.

OUT: DAS NEU release their second single 'Kids'.

With their new song 'Kids' (Video), german hip hop act DAS NEU create a bittersweet story of failure, escaping the past and the estrangement towards your own youth. The band discuss their restless but aimless search of the abstract word 'home' and describe the loss of their relationship toward their home town and former friends.

Everyone can relate to these feelings. Everyone fears them. But they seem to be inevitable in life.

On the upcoming tour starting in April 2020, 'Watershed' will most likely be one of the fans favourite to sing and dance along to. Make sure to get your tickets for one of the shows. The Berlin show at Columbia Halle is already sold out and an additional date has been added. Wow!

OUT: 'The Current' by hackedepicciotto

'The Current' is the fourth album hackedepicciotto have recorded since becoming nomads in 2010.

It is their most powerful album yet. After composing desert drones for their previous album 'Perseverantia' and dark foreboding melodies for 'Menetekel', their new album moves forwards, gaining in speed and energy. Alexander Hacke's background with Einstürzende Neubauten can be felt in the many rhythmic tracks.

"We had the urge to include more percussive elements and electronic sounds to create a powerful rhythmic feel. A wilder and more danceable element. Something to get all of us on our feet, and moving. Away from depression and hopelessness."

The classic background of Danielle de Picciotto has become more prominent as well. Glorious choirs and violin harmonies flow throughout the album giving it an almost symphonic sound.

The artist couple calls their music "cinematic-drone" and their album sounds like the film track to an apocalyptic feature-length film, hopefully with a happy end.

Video for The Seventh Day was directed by the Spanish artist Helio León and shot in Cork, Ireland in the last days of December 2019.
