Giant Rooks announce new album!

Giant Rooks is back! After the indie band celebrated international success with their debut album 'Rookery', they are now releasing their second album 'How Have You Been?' with 14 new songs in February 2024. Two singles have already been released, which give an idea of the journey Giant Rooks will take us on. They will also be performing their new album live on an extensive tour.

Freibank x Café Concerto writing camp in Berlin

We met in June, in summery Milan, with our partner Café Concerto at Quiet, please! Studios and wrote songs for 3 days. Our writers K.ZIA, Niklas Keiser (Razz) and Anton Krogmann teamed up with our Italian friends Massimiliano Pelan, Pier Vincenza Casati and Giuseppe D'Albenzio. In September, the second round was held in Berlin at Loftyard Studios, where Carina Madsius and BjarkeSørensen were also present besides our guest artists Patricie Kaňok Fuxová and Michal Jiráň of Vesna and Antonella Sgobio.

OUT: album 'Stay, Temporary Home' by Arthur Clees

Less is more – the motto applies to Luxembourg's most intriguing newcomer Arthur Clees, whose approach is minimalist, rich, hypnotic. Clees is a young prodigy drummer / percussionist / vocalist with a multitude of performances and sessions under his belt. The 21-year-old musician manages to inspire very different people with his tracks. No Wonder: There's both depth and a tremendous upward pull at the same time.

In his debut album, "Stay, Temporary Home" influences from techno to electronica to the avant-garde are paired with a distinctive feeling for melodies and a signature treatment of percussion. Soul and R&B songs often appear as sonically distant yet emotionally close mirages. In addition, slightly altered vocals, hearty yet reductionist beats and a detuned piano reminiscent of your favourite aunt's Sunday cookies come in – a mixture that an incredible number of people can agree on at the moment.

OUT: album 'Off My Meds' by Jacob Bellens

'Off My Meds' took shape over two turbulent years in Jacob’s life. Several major life events happened back to back in a very short time, and it ended up breaking him down to a point of total exhaustion. The energy needed to uphold the outer self we all need to function was no longer there, and his inner actual beliefs and values began to show themselves one by one, which was not pretty to look at. Change was inevitable, simply because the price of not changing would be much higher in the long term.

OUT: ep 'V' by Föllakzoid

Unlike past Föllakzoid records, that were done in single takes with the full band, their latest record 'V' took a month to construct out of more than 70 separate stems. Guitars, bass, drums, synthesizers, and vocals, were all recorded in isolation and producer Atom™, who was not present for recording, was then asked to re-organize the four sequences of stems without any length, structural restrictions or guidelines.

OUT: Album 'Tango Málaga' by Harri Kaitila

Harri Kaitila is a Finnish opera and concert singer whose vocal specialty is a lyric tenor. Since 1999, Kaitila has devoted himself to various tango concert projects and has performed in various concert halls, from the Slovak Radio Concert Hall to the Berlin Philharmonic Hall.

Kaitila began his professional career while studying voice at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. He toured Europe and served as cultural manager of the Finnish Cultural Institute in Germany. 'Tango Málaga' is Finnish tango and a little bit more, sung by opera tenor Harri Kaitila and produced in warm Spanish Malaga.
