Cluster & Eno in Conny Plank Movie

'The Potential Of Noise' premieres in Hamburg tomorrow!

Plank's studio was located in a house on a farm near Cologne, Germany, but was where Kraftwerk, David Bowie, Brian Eno, Ultravox, Eurythmics, Neu!, Cluster, Ash Ra Tempel and others made some of their most important records.

Producer Conny Plank was one of the most innovative sound experimentalists, producing recordings that revolutionized music that still is as valid as ever. He became a hub in the new German sounds.

Producer, sound engineer and musician covering a wide range of genres including progressive, avant-garde, electronic music and krautrock.

Dying at only 47, Plank left behind a wife, actress Christa Fast and a 13-year-old-son, Stephan.

Now, 20 years on, Stephan sets out to find his father, the film taking a journey through music history as well as around the world, to give an unusually intimate and emotional view of the artists, their work with Conny Plank and the many musical traces he left behind.

We are happy, that several Cluster & Eno tracks are to be heard in the movie, as well as

'Marcia Baila' by Les Rita Mitsouko that we licensed for our french partner Because.

Soundtrack of George Gittoes' documentary 'Snow Monkey' released!

'Snow Monkey' is an epic portrait of daily life in Jalalabad. Australian director and war activist George Gittoes recruited gangs of war-damaged children to shoot local, Pashto-style films: vibrant, colorful and infused with the violence they experience on a daily basis.

Although Gittoes is an award-winning artist, his film does not easily classify as an art film per se, veering more towards post-modern agitprop.

Main parts of the soundtrack were written by Freibank author Hugo Race in collaboration with other artists such as Mick Harvey, Hellen Rose, Brian Hooper, just to name a few.
